The public ceremony will be held at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills, where Fisher and Reynolds were laid to rest; Fisher's ashes were placed in a giant Prozac pill-shaped urn.

"It was a very peaceful exit that only my mother could have orchestrated", he said to booming laughter.

Pausing for effect, he added, "She was trained in Hollywood, where they teach you to make a great entrance and a great exit".

In a statement posted on debbiereynolds.com, Fisher revealed additional details about the memorial. He continued, "If I'd been with our beloved showboat, I might have been able to save her again".

He could face up to two years in prison on the federal charge and a maximum five years for the assault charge. Welch's official sentencing is set for June 22 - in the meantime, he will remain jailed.

He echoed a sentiment expressed by many early in his remarks.
