Florida could push ahead with a dramatic overhaul of school tests under a far-reaching bill now moving in the state Senate.

"Expanding the already deadly Stand Your Ground law in Florida will lead to even more families having their loved ones killed by gun violence, particularly families of color", said Lucy McBath, Everytown's faith and outreach leader, in a statement.

Instead of heading to the Governor, a Stand Your Ground-related bill is now headed back to the Senate for approval. Cloud, who chairs the tourism and gaming House subcommittee, is likewise standing firm on the House's version of a gambling bill, which he sponsored.
