Shops reopen after fire at Bellagio retail annex

Jill Long of Pittsburgh told the Journal-Review she could see the flames from the balcony of her hotel room at The Cosmopolitan, located just down the street from the Bellagio.

The portion of the building that was on fire was the roof over the south entrance to the Bellagio shops.

The fire broke out at the luxurious Bellagio Hotel at around 10:45 p.m. local time.

Here's a look outside the Bellagio after yesterday's fire. But the fire department has looked at the damage left by the fire and they have an estimate on what the cost could be.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Clark County Fire Department confirmed the fire was eventually extinguished after crews had difficulties accessing the source.

Authorities are yet to reveal whether the bodies discovered on Wednesday are linked to the previous youths' deaths. Tigre said he spoke to investigators at the scene, but he did not get any information from them.

Gusty winds fanned the flames, forcing employees to evacuate tony stores such as Tiffany & Co. and Chanel. Damage was limited to the roof.

Haydu said the location of the fire made access hard, according to the Associated Press.

Hotel spokeswoman Yvette Monet (moh-NAY') says the retail area was evacuated, but operations weren't interrupted at the posh casino and hotel with almost 4,000 rooms.

There have been no reports of injuries.

Part of Las Vegas Boulevard remained closed early Friday.
