He is now under house arrest and won't be able to leave Arizona until June, per Ben Goessling of ESPN.

Floyd is coming off a rough 2016 season in which he played 13 games for the Arizona Cardinals, was then released by the Cardinals after a DUI arrest, and then finished up the year with the New England Patriots. His punishment included home confinement.

The Minnesota Vikings are expected to sign former Arizona Cardinals receiver and Minnesota native Michael Floyd to a contract.

Former #Patriots & #AZCardinals WR Michael Floyd is signing with the #Vikings, sources say.

Floyd, whose contract contains incentives that could push the value as high as $6 million, will be behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. "We have offered Michael the full support and assistance of the Minnesota Vikings organization ..."

Floyd brings a troubled past to Minnesota, as he was also suspended from team activities at Notre Dame in the spring of 2011 for a drunken driving citation.

"For the last 10 years or so, they've been looking for that big guy", Carter said.

The terms of Floyd's house arrest this spring, and his possible suspension this fall, mean Treadwell and the Vikings' other young receivers will have opportunities to assert themselves without the sixth-year receiver around.

In five National Football League seasons, Floyd has caught 246 passes for 3,781 yards.

Now he returns home to play for the Vikings on a prove-it deal.

Floyd caught a least one pass in 42 of 43 career games and set a school record with 17 100-yard receiving games.

"He is very quick in and out of his breaks, he has good acceleration, he's a good stop and start guy, I think he's going to be a good player", head coach Mike Zimmer said at the end of last season.
