"The Ogden Raptors offer honest apology to anyone who was offended by the promotion itself and the contents of the press release, and in no way supports the objectification of women".

It was dubbed "Hourglass Appreciation Night", and it has been scrapped after the Utah baseball team behind the idea took on some vast flack.

"It is not reflective of the values of the Ogden Raptors, Los Angeles Dodgers organization, the Pioneer Baseball League or Minor League Baseball".

He says the release decorated with drawings of women in bikinis and promising a "different stunner each half-inning" wasn't authorized by team ownership or management, and the team has taken steps to make sure it wouldn't happen again.

"The home team hosts the Billings Mustangs, but the real thoroughbreds will join Raptors broadcaster A.P. Harreld in the booth", the release said. A man giving out copies of a statement at the team's field about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City did not give his name or answer further questions.

"Fans will have the opportunity to pose for pictures with the lovely ladies as we showcase seriously splendid visual appeal", the release said.

Raptors have apparently had second thoughts about its "Hourglass Appreciation Night", a promotion that offended everyone but the knucklehead who conceived it.

"Stars is the ONLY talent agency dedicated to developing healthy role models within the media", the posting said.

The Ogden Raptors, a short-season rookie league affiliate of the Dodgers, scrapped the event, which was minor league in every sense.

The team did not immediately respond to an email or voicemail requesting comment.

Another Utah minor-league baseball team, the Orem Owlz, apologized and canceled a promotion called "Caucasian Heritage Night" in 2015.
