Lucky Whitehead agent denies Cowboys WR was in Virginia for arrest

Receiver Dez Bryant was admittedly close with Whitehead, but he understood the decision the Cowboys had to make.

Prince William County arrest records show Whitehead was arrested for shoplifting and petit larceny June 22 in Manassas, Va. after taking food and drinks from a gas station there.

Court records state Whitehead was charged with shoplifting/petit larceny for under $200, which is a misdemeanor. Whitehead failed to appear in court for a July 6 arraignment and a warrant was issued shortly thereafter.

Whitehead's next hearing is scheduled for August 10, according to court records.

The Dallas Cowboys have had a tumultuous week to say the least.

Taliban have in the past exaggerated their successes and the remoteness of the area made it impossible to independently verify. Various reports said 20-30 of the villagers were later released or escaped and that about 33 remain in captivity.

Whitehead was arrested for petty theft last month in Virginia, according to multiple reports.

Whitehead's agent, though, claims that his client was not arrested and that it was a case of mistaken identity. Early the next morning, Kasino posted a video of him returning the dog to Whitehead.

"I didn't even know about that", he told reporters.

TMZ said they reached out to Whitehead's camp but haven't heard back yet. He later announced on social media that the dog had been returned unharmed. He has rushed 20 times for 189 yards and caught nine passes for 64 yards.

Just the same, the message that came with Whitehead's release resonated loud and clear with the Cowboys. Their star running back, Ezekiel Elliott, is involved in some legal trouble after a nightclub incident. The previous night, Whitehead was out late, and posted videos to his Snapchat during his night out. The team also signed Greg Hardy in 2015 after Hardy was convicted of domestic violence.
