Pope Slips in The Popemobile, Gets a Black Eye

The vehicle used to transport Francis among crowds came to an abrupt stop amid the throngs of people and the pope, who only has a hip-high bar to hold onto, lost his balance and bruised his cheekbone and cutting his left eyebrow. He was referring to reports in August that a Russian tanker had become the first merchant ship to sail across the Arctic without the help of an icebreaker, sailing from Norway to South Korea in 19 days.

Pope Francis had some harsh words on Monday for President Donald Trump and others who support ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program: If you're calling yourself pro-life, don't separate families through restrictive immigration laws.

Pope Francis rejected climate change denial as strongly as he did in his encyclical on the environment, "Laudato Si'", saying that "the one who denies this should go to the scientists, and ask them". Noting that he did not want to express himself on an issue he had not studied closely, he repeated his intention to "study it well".

And he didn't shy away from naming and decrying, one by one, the evils that undermine a culture of encounter including drug abuse, the devastation of natural resources, pollution, the exploitation of labour, illicit money trafficking and financial speculation which, he said, expose millions of men and women to poverty, prostitution, human trafficking, the tragedy of migrants who are exploited and manipulated. But he called attention to the suffering Mexico has endured, and called for prayer for that country.

Apple's iPhone X Keynote Event Is Happening Today
Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities said that the X will come in silver, black and a new coppery blush gold. The dual cameras on the iPhone 8 Plus also have a new "Portrait Lighting" feature to adjust the lighting for portrait shots.

But a few years later, a local woman found it. Pope Francis said, "She had the courage and faith to put this blurred and torn fabric in a special place, restoring its lost dignity". But, he said, this is not enough. But he said governments have to manage refugee flows "with prudence", taking into account how many people it can successfully integrate into its society. He also spoke about the humanitarian problems that are associated with mass migration, and the need to resolve the root causes of the immigration crisis. "The pope should tell President Maduro directly to listen to the people". The Holy Father noted that he had touched on this topic numerous times.

Francis said he was "grateful" to both Italy and Greece for "opening their hearts" on the migrant issue, and said he had seen "very handsome examples of integration" in Italy. "I pray for that".

While his trip back to Rome did not have to change flight plans like the flight to Colombia Sept. 6 did because of Hurricane Irma, Pope Francis was asked about the apparently increasing intensity of hurricanes and other storms and what he thinks of political leaders who doubt climate change is real.

What they were doing, he said, was saying, "This is my treasure".
