Apple Inc. on Tuesday launched a completely redesigned iPhone X, along with two other new smartphones-iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus-as well as Apple Watch and a higher-definition Apple TV. These new iPhones are thought to be the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. Not that that means anything to most of us, because we are free thinkers who aren't already waiting in line to buy phones not yet announced under the assumption that there are no equals.

The Apple Watch The Apple Watch Series 3 features a new, more powerful processor, new chip for communication, altimeter and cellular support.

The iPhone X has edge-to-edge glass a la Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy Note; an OLED "super retina" screen (more vibrant colors than LCD); HDR display that supports Dolby Vision; "TrueDepth" camera; and a feature called "Animoji" that lets you record a message and choose an emoji to speak your message.

The iPhone X is expected to cost about $US1,000, a pricey psychological threshold for consumers that Apple will try to overcome with augmented reality features and other new technology.

Ahead of the much-awaited launch, there has been a major leak of features, including the anticipated name of Apple's latest iPhone. Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities said that the X will come in silver, black and a new coppery blush gold. Now, Apple Watch will notify users when it detects an elevated heart rate when they don't appear to be active.

The iPhone X will cost $1799 (64GB) or $2099 (256GB).

Update 3: As expected, Apple announced a 4K Apple TV.

The company is also introducing the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, as successors to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Alongside these gadgets, Apple Watch and Apple TV are also scheduled for updates.
